USAC Board of Directors Elects Seven Members
On January 2, 2007, the USAC Board of Directors elected seven individuals to the USAC Board. The new members were appointed by FCC Chairman Kevin J. Martin. Following are the Board members elected for terms that will conclude on December 31, 2009:
D. Michael Anderson — Affiliation: Iowa Telecommunications Services, Inc., Vice President, External Affairs and Marketing. Representing: Incumbent local exchange carriers with annual operating revenues in excess of $40 million.
Anne C. Boyle — Affiliation: Nebraska Public Service Commission, Commissioner, Lincoln, NE. Representing: State telecommunications regulators.
Joel Lubin (reappointment) — Affiliation: AT&T, Vice President, Washington, DC. Representing: Interexchange carriers with more than $3 billion in annual operating revenues.
David P. McClure — Affiliation: US Internet Industry Association, President & CEO, Alexandria, VA. Representing: Information Service Providers.
Jay H. Sanders, M.D. (reappointment) — Affiliation: The Global Telemedicine Group, President and CEO, McLean, VA. Representing: Rural health care providers.
Phyllis Simon (reappointment) — Affiliation: Conway School District, Conway, Arkansas (Retired). Representing: Schools.
The following new member was elected to a term that will conclude on December 31, 2007 to replace a Board member who resigned in 2006:
Lee Beatty Schroeder — Affiliation: Cablevision Systems Corporation, Vice President, Government & Regulatory Strategy. Representing: Cable operators
Spring Training for Service Providers - April 18 and 25, 2007
USAC’s Schools and Libraries Division will conduct two one-day service provider trainings in April. The purpose of these trainings is to provide service providers with the latest program updates and guidance on how to successfully participate in the Schools and Libraries Program.
The trainings will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on April 18, 2007 and Chicago, Illinois on April 25, 2007.
