HATS Mission
The objective of the Helping Applicants To Succeed (HATS) Outreach Initiative is to contact applicants who have faced challenges with the Schools and Libraries program and provide targeted training that may help them become more successful in the future. The HATS Outreach Initiative will also provide USAC with the opportunity to collect valuable feedback in order to improve the program for all applicants.
The goals for each HATS visit include the following:
- Helping the applicant understand the causes for past funding denials.
- Providing the applicant with training and resources to reduce or eliminate application errors or program compliance issues in the future.
- Helping the applicant make sure that the students and/or patrons receive the greatest value from the Schools and Libraries program.
- Gaining an understanding of the applicant experience and then using the information to improve and streamline the program.
